Artist Bio
Tracy Levesque is a New England based fine artist who was born in the beautiful Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts and is currently working out of her studio at Western Avenue Studios in the Merrimack Valley in Lowell, Massachusetts.
A true renaissance woman, Levesque graduated from Brandeis University with a Bachelors of Arts degree, Magna Cum Laude with honors in Theater Arts and with honors in English and American Literature. She studied Japanese Printmaking and Graphic Design at MassArt.
Tracy’s chromatic acrylic paintings are a celebration of nature in its purest form and blur the boundaries between fine art and illustration. Reminiscent of stained glass, her meticulous use of color and line create an optical illusion that draws the viewer not only into the image itself, but into another world entirely. Many fine layers of thin brushwork and thick palette knife painting create the fantastic visual effect that is so unique to Levesque’s signature style which she calls “Fairytale Realism.”
Levesque is an award winning artist that has been exhibiting her work nationally for over 30 years and has work in many private and public collections across the globe.
Main Subject
Landscapes and Seascapes
Materials and Techniques
I am an acrylic painter creating vibrant landscape and seascape paintings by building thick layers of palette knife work accented by intricate brush detail on canvas and wood panel. The 3D effect created by my paintings is reminiscent of stained glass and celebrates the life and movement in nature in a sweeping kaleidoscope of color that delights the senses.
