I learned to weld on thin-walled titanium bicycle frames, a hard-fought skill which quickly gave purpose to all the interesting little bits of steel I can't help collect for their aesthetic value. This led to all sorts of fun trouble, such as modifying bicycles and running a robot orphanage out of my friend's garage up the street.
