Mike Gruber earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Iowa State University College of Design. He practiced in the Boston area before hanging up the t-square for the paintbrush. Mike is essentially a self taught painter who has built on his architectural background and love of whimsical sketching to create street scenes that are grounded in reality but exist in an abstract world. Like a great building, each painting is carefully composed to express a sense of space, light, color and a little drama.
