Artist Bio
I am a self taught painter who works almost exclusively via palette knife. Upon completion of college I embarked on a decade long stint in corporate America, followed by a few years of teaching within the Springfield Public Schools in Springfield, MA. Upon the birth of my daughter I became a stay at home father finding time to begin painting again late into the night. This return to art, having previously stopped upon completion of high school, finds me exploring still life and landscape paintings that blur the lines between Impressionism and Abstraction through texture.
Materials and Techniques: My process involves applying layer upon layer of oil paint via palette knife. Working with thickly applied oils I scrape, reapply, layer again, and build layer upon layer to create an image that captures the structure and physicality of nature whether its a landscape or still life.
