Joanne has been an artist since she was old enough to hold a crayon. She studied Fine Arts at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and then to Los Angeles to work for Warner Bros. Feature Animation in their Animation division.
After returning to Boston, she started designing and hand painting custom children's murals. She has painted murals and wall art for hundreds of commercial, healthcare and residential children's venues. Some of her work can be seen at My Gyms, Bosse Sports, L'Attitude Gallery, the Hanover Mall Play Area, Cohassett Pediatric Office, Prevites Marketplace, and Georgios in Brockton. Health care commissions consist of inpatient and outpatient locations at Children's Hospital throughout the Boston area; UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester; and East Boston Neighborhood Health Center.
Joanne still loves to change the whole look of a room by painting custom murals. "The best part of my job is seeing the excitement on a child's face after giving them the room of their dreams!" She hopes to license her artwork and illustrate her first book in the near future!
