A busy street scene, an outdoor café, and people enjoying their favorite recreation are my favorite things to paint. I enjoy the balance of background structure with the vitality of people.
Typically multiple photographs are the basis of the piece. My process always begins with a quick black and white sketch. When I do the sketch, I fall in love with the painting.
I have been working in watercolor since 1991. I am a signature member and president of Rhode Island Watercolor Society.
