Artist Bio
Ivana George is an interdisciplinary artist creating artworks in photography, video, painting and mixed-media. She is passionate about exploring the relationship between humanity and the natural world, informed by her ethics of environmental stewardship and sustainability. She earned her M.F.A. at Tufts University/SMFA. She is a tenured professor at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts where she teaches courses in photography, digital art and sustainability. She has exhibited her work in several solo, two-person exhibitions, and over 50 national juried and invitational group exhibitions over the past 20 years. She has participated in two artist-in-residency programs Oolite arts and Vermont Studio Center. She has published her artworks in nationally distributed magazines and many regional newspapers. She has been the recipient of multiple grants to support the creation of new artworks.

Materials and Techniques
These are the types of artworks I will share at the event:
1. handmade cyanotype prints made from 8″x10″ film camera negatives, which are in limited editions of 15 depicting urban agriculture and vegetable gardening
2. unique cyanotype photogram prints with botanical printing. Botanical printing is a method I use to transfer the pigments inherent in plants into cotton paper.
3. unique botanical prints on which I have painted with handmade watercolors (which I make from plants, insects and minerals), acrylic inks and drawn on them with metallic inks and calligraphy pens.
