Darren Wetzel - I’ve lived and painted in Boston for the last 20 years. I’m drawn to bright colors and the interaction between them in nature. My landscape paintings accentuate the deep blues of the afternoon sky, and the rich blues and purples of water, the greens of trees and grass and the golds and oranges of those same trees and grass at dusk. The infinite range of hues in nature and how they change at different times of day makes landscape painting challenging and exciting.
