Joanne Tarlin has been showing her work in Boston since 2008. Trained as a designer at the Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles, Joanne worked in graphics and advertising for many years. Presently she is an MFA candidate at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. She is a recent recipient of the SMFA President's Research Award and a 2014 Montague Travel Grant, with which she traveled to Venice, Italy to study the light and the recent exhibition Temple of Light, at the Peggy Guggenheim Museum.
